I’ve worked at Skipton for 8 years now, starting as a Mortgage Underwriter and then progressed to a Mortgage Underwriter Specialist. We are always encouraged to develop and grow and I’ve always felt valued and part of the “Skipton Family”. 

In my role I love helping people have a home and creating an outstanding experience for our customers and brokers.

I think the fact that we are actual people and whether in branch, or face to face, or over the phone like me, we’re able to connect with the members. 

I feel like you're able to impact someone's day, and most of the time in a positive way.

At the moment, I’m working on aligning two Complaints-related datasets. This matters because complaints data gives us a clear view of where our customers are struggling most. 

By spotting increases early, whether in a specific area, category, or customer group, we can respond quickly, focus on the right priorities, reduce friction, and ultimately improve the experience for our members.

Skipton feels like an emerging and exciting place to work, with constant change and real opportunity to shape your career. I started on the mortgage phone lines and was supported to grow based on my strengths. 

The development opportunities have been huge, and my current role is varied, purposeful, and focused on making a real difference for customers.

I started my career with Skipton in 2015, and it’s been a really rewarding journey. It’s a place where you are never just a number. There is a real focus on caring for members and developing people. 

As a Branch Manager, I love leading a team that is supported to grow and dedicated to doing the right thing for our members, supporting their goals while contributing to Skipton’s long-term purpose and strategy.

Skipton has provided me with an excellent foundation for my career. Since joining in 2015, I’ve been given the flexibility to grow and develop, even without prior experience. 

I’ve had the opportunity to take on a variety of roles within the same team, and throughout my journey I’ve been consistently supported and encouraged to progress.
