You might think we’re a team that’s made up of only frontline Financial Advisers. But nothing could be further from the truth.
Here, you’ll find people developing product propositions. Taking on research challenges. Delivering operational projects. Making sure members are onboarded in the right way. Dealing with complaints. Assessing customer journeys and driving quality assurance. And much, much more.
Each of these teams are essential for our members' experiences – and it takes all kinds of diverse people to make that happen.
Of course, Financial Advice does play a role here. And we help our members with guidance on everything from planning for retirement, to boosting their pensions, to leaving a legacy to their families when the time is right. We have the kind of thoughtful and tailored conversations that do much more than offer financial advice with lasting impact - they also help build lasting relationships with our members.
Whatever your role - frontline or not - it’s all about having the freedom to do what’s right for our members. To shape lives, not just finances.
There’s clear pathways in financial advice here, but you’re never boxed in. You can grow, specialise, or take your career in different directions over time - all within the same team.
We’ll support you every step of the way. With training, guidance, and opportunities to complete your RO exams, you can become full diploma qualified. You’ll have everything you need to grow your skills and build real expertise.
If you’re still quite new to financial advice or you’re working towards becoming fully qualified, this is the place to begin your journey. Lots of people on our team first joined us in a Financial Planning Consultant role, and many of them even came from other teams in Skipton.
We call them FPCs and they play an important role in making sure our members are prepared for their Financial Advice appointments. But it’s not just members - our Advisers need to be well equipped too. That means gathering clear information on a customer’ motivations and goals for their money, helping to create a seamless journey from start to finish.
With direct progression routes to get here, as a Financial Adviser, you’ll help members plan for things like retirement, pensions, savings and passing on their wealth. You’ll explain options clearly and help people feel confident about their decisions. As a senior, you’ll take on more complex cases and support colleagues. You’ll help shape how advice is delivered and build strong, lasting relationships with members.
Working across teams, helping Advisers and Financial Planning Consultants develop their skills, consistently delivering good customer outcomes.
Our Financial Planning team supports our customers by helping them understand their financial options and make informed decisions. It’s all about monitoring and researching new products, providing recommendations, and sharing important information. The idea is to make sure customers have the clarity, confidence and peace of mind to be able to plan their financial future in a way that makes a positive difference to their lives.
It’s no surprise that our Quality Assurance and Customer Outcomes team is here to make sure we deliver quality customer outcomes. But it takes a lot of hard work and specialist skills to make that happen. From assessing financial advice to reviewing whole customer journeys, the team acts as our customers' champion, and helps them get the most from Skipton.
Whether it’s directly in Financial Advice or within one of the support teams, our colleagues play a crucial role in fitting the jigsaw together. From shaping FA propositions to compliance and governance frameworks; from technical support to day to day operations; from regulated complaints to front line customer support – our teams work seamlessly to break down stereotypes and make Financial Advice more accessible.
We want people who care as much about doing the right thing as they do about numbers.
You’ll be someone who listens, asks the right questions, and understands what really matters to each member. Calm under pressure, curious about people’s goals, and naturally collaborative, you’ll help deliver advice that's fair, clear, and meaningful.
If you want a career where every conversation matters, and where your work helps people feel confident about the future, this could be the place for you.
